"Thats a lot of milkmen on the same route...no wonder they fight." - Elijah C. Skuggs
If you had told me at some point in my life I would get the opprtunity to design a new poster for Alex Winter's 1993 acid-infused comedic masterpiece 'FREAKED' I'd say "HA! Yeah, right...and Keanu Reeves will choose what some ill-advised suits would consider career suicide and take an uncredited role as a dog-boy in a film for a dear friend at the a high point in his career post the greatest surf-cop action film of the early 90's and a co-starring roles alongside the legendary likes of Oldman, Hopkins and Abdul."
Pigs flew apparently!
I love Alex Winter and I love this movie. I tried some new techniques and digital brushes on this poster. I really wanted the poster to scream...excuse me...wretch 90's MTV Freakshow Carnivale (whatever that means) and have a tinge of David Daniels aesthetic as seen in the opening titles. Thick, messy clay-like brush strokes with pops of gross, unsettling colors.
Once again, MONDO making dreams come true.
